Effect of support based on family centered empowerment model on care burden in family caregivers of patients with multiple sclerosis

Introduction Family caregivers of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) are at risk care burden that may lead to a detrimental effect on their quality life (QoL), physical and mental well-being. This study aimed determine the family-centered empowerment model (FCEM) MS. Methods quasi-experimental was conducted using convenience sampling 60 referring Multiple Sclerosis Clinic in Ghaem Hospital, Mashhad, Iran. The participants were assigned FCEM control groups based days they referred MS clinic. Data collection tools included Zarit Caregiver Burden Inventory (CBI), completed intervention before 1 month after intervention. support provided during eight 45-60-min sessions, group received medical center’s routine training. analyzed by Chi-square, independent t -test, analysis covariance, repeated measure tests. Results results present showed all demographic characteristics homogeneous baseline. Before intervention, no significant difference observed between two regarding mean scores burden.
